The NeuroTree Of Grief
A Neurographic Art Practice for Grief & Remembrance
When grief feels heavy, words often aren't enough. The NeuroTree of Grief is a full process drawing experience using the Neurographic Tree inside the Somatic Art framework — Regulate, Integrate, and Create.
Grief doesn’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes it feels more like a heaviness—a weight you’re carrying without quite knowing where to put it.
The NeuroTree of Grief is an extended guided drawing experience that gives some of what you’re carrying a place on the page. Using the familiar structure of a tree, we’ll explore what lives beneath the surface, where we find ourselves now, and what may still be reaching toward the future.
Together, we’ll move through the roots, trunk, canopy, and seeds of your tree—using Neurographic lines, rounding, color, shading, and intuitive mark-making to create a deeply personal drawing.
Seeds → What Has Yet to Take Form
Canopy → What Reaches Forward
Trunk → Where I Stand Now
Roots → What Lives Beneath
Your Project Pack includes 115 minutes of guided Studio drawing divided into natural chapters, plus a companion PDF with the conceptual map of the tree, color exploration, reflection and journaling prompts, and a guide for returning to the practice at your own pace.
You don’t need to know exactly what you’re feeling—or where the drawing will take you before you begin.
Just bring your supplies, make a little space for yourself, and begin where you are.
I particularly like “what may still be reaching toward the future” here. It allows hope and possibility into the description without turning grief into a journey we're promising will end somewhere tidy. And the Roots → Trunk → Canopy → Seeds progression gives this Pack its own recognizable organizing structure, just as What If? → What Is? does for the first one.
An extended guided Neurographic drawing experience for exploring grief and remembrance through the imagery of a tree. Move through roots, trunk, canopy and seeds as you give shape to what you’re carrying, notice what supports you now, and make space for what may still be growing.
